Where It Begins: 1977-2000 is a new documentary that follows “the rise of American independent music through a midwest college music scene.” Directed by John Isberg, it features interviews with producer Steve Albini, Joe Shanahan, Kim Deal, Mike Watt, Ian Mackaye, and more. Check out a trailer for the film below. Isberg and his team recently launched an IndieGogo campaign to fund the film’s completion, and tapped Jeff Schroeder of the Smashing Pumpkins to score it.
