James Blake Continues BBC Radio 1 Residency, Plays New Remix of "Not Long Now"

Tonight James Blake opened the latest installment of his BBC Radio 1 Residency with a fake weather forecast that predicted, among other things, "acid-house gales" at "rave-o'clock". Later, he played Prince, D'Angelo, Arca, Arthur Russell, and Kate Bush, in addition to a new Klaus remix of his own song, "Not Long Now" from 2011's Enough Thunder EP. He also played his recent single, "Building It Still", which was debuted on the last installment.

Babes In Toyland Announce Reunion Show

Babes In Toyland Announce Reunion Show

Babes In Toyland have announced a reunion show for their Fontanelle-era lineup of Kat Bjelland, Maureen Herman, and Lori Barbero. The show will take place on February 12 at The Roxy in Los Angeles. It's their first show in 18 years.

Said Bjelland in a press release:

"It was brought to my attention that not only do we have a lot of diehard fans from back in the day, but also a whole new generation of kids--my son Henry included-- that were eager to see us live....I felt some kind of obligation for them to see us, too. But mainly, I just missed my girls and the feeling that comes from playing with them--visceral live therapy."

Maureen Herman, who originally left the band in 1997, added:

"The first time we played together again," added bass player Maureen Herman, "we weren't sure what it would be like. After knocking the hell out of ‘He's My Thing’ on the first try, we knew this was going to be fun--and it was going to rock like a motherf***er."

Tickets for the show are on sale Friday November 21 at 10 AM PT.

The xx Detail Recording Process for New Album, Play the Guggenheim: Video

The xx Detail Recording Process for New Album, Play the Guggenheim: Video

The xx are busy recording what will be their third album, the follow up to 2012's Coexist . In a newsletter, they offered a few more details about the recording process, which has taken place around the world. Read it below:

Hello,

It's been a while, we hope everything is wonderful with you.

This year has been a creative one for us so far, we have been hard at work writing and recording new music in a few different places around the world.

In the spring we spent a few weeks in the incredible and unique town of Marfa in Texas. Then, in Summer we spent some time just outside of Reykavik in Iceland. This Autumn we have been back in London, writing and having some time at home but this week we are heading out to Los Angeles to continue the writing and recording process.

Although all very different, each of these places have been inspirational environments to create music in, and each will have an influence on the new album. The whole process is a big adventure and we can't wait for a time when we'll be able to share the music with you.

Lots of love until then.

xx The xx

They also played a party at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City on Wednesday, where they played songs old and new. You can watch a few videos of those old songs below, via FACT.
