Kanye West Gives Emotional Performance of “Only One” on "The Jonathan Ross Show"

Kanye West Gives Emotional Performance of “Only One” on "The Jonathan Ross Show"

Kanye West swung by Britain's "The Jonathan Ross Show" to do another performance of "Only One" inside a modern lightbox similar to the one he recently used for his SNL40 performance. This time, he gave an emotional shout out to his daughter at the end, adding: “Nori’s my daughter’s name... I have her name right here on my chest” after collapsing onto the floor. Watch the performance below via Stereogum .

West also recently performed the song with slightly different staging on the Swedish TV show "Skavlan". Watch it here.

Visage Singer Steve Strange Has Died

Visage Singer Steve Strange Has Died

Visage frontman Steve Strange died today following a heart attack in Egypt, BBC News reports. He was 55 years old.

Strange was born Steve Harrington on May 28, 1959. He co-founded the Blitz Club in London’s Soho district in 1979-- a venue that would pioneer the U.K.'s New Romantic movement in the 1980s, giving the likes of Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, and Boy George’s Culture Club a place to perform en route to mainstream success.

Later, he formed the pop band Visage with with Rusty Egan, Midge Ure, Barry Adamson, John McGeoch, and Dave Formula. They released their first single, "Tar", in 1979, before debuting their breakout hit, "Fade To Grey", as part of their eponymous debut album in 1980.

Strange starred in the video for David Bowie's "Ashes To Ashes" in 1980. Watch that video, and listen to some of Visage's other hits, below.

Online Hosting Service Rapidshare Closing

Online Hosting Service Rapidshare Closing

Bad news for those who still use the hosting website Rapidshare to store and download new music (hopefully, not illegally): you'll need to find another place to go. After thirteen years of business, the Swiss hosting service - once regarded as a titan in the file-swapping world along with rivals like Megavideo and Megaupload - will finally go offline this spring, following an extensive period of decline at the site, BBC reports. All accounts will be deleted on March 31, so if you've got data on Rapidshare, make sure to back it up now. We've reached the end of an era.

Since its inception in 2002, Rapidshare has recieved constant pressure from federal and international authorities seeking compensation for files illegally uploaded and shared on the site. There was a victory; according to BBC, a German court gave the site the go-ahead three years ago, when it ruled that Rapidshare was not responsible for managing the files uploaded and shared by its users. Nevertheless, continued lawsuits and decreasing usage forced the site to adopt a series of measures, such as requiring users to pay a usage fee and removing free downloads altogether. In 2013, the company fired 45 of its 60 employees.

Here's the notice Rapidshare currently has posted on its homepage:

Notice

Dear RapidShare Customers

Kindly note that RapidShare will stop the active service on March 31st, 2015. Extensions of STANDARD PLUS and PREMIUM will be possible until February 28th, 2015.

We strongly recommend all customers to secure their data. After March 31st, 2015 all accounts will no longer be accessible and will be deleted automatically.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send us an e-mail to support@rapidshare.com

Thank you for many years of trust.

Miguel's New Album Tentatively Called Wild Heart

Miguel's New Album Tentatively Called Wild Heart

RCA Executive Mark Pitts recently sat for an interview with Billboard in which the ByStorm Entertainment CEO revealed some details about Miguel's forthcoming album, which he says is "90 percent done".

The followup to 2012's Kaleidoscope Dream is tentatively called Wild Heart, and it will likely come out in the second quarter. Said Pitts:

He's more confident, and it's going to show in the music, his look and in the videos. Miguel is ready to push the button. His first album was about trials and tribulations. The second was OK, we're here; I wasn't bugging. And now it's here we go. He wants people to understand who he is. He's tired of people asking who are you, what's that, do you like girls?" He tells me, "I want everyone to know I am wild, funny, edgy and love women. I need this album to connect."

Miguel was recently spotted posing with Jai Paul on Instagram, and at the end of last year, he released a surprise three-song EP featuring the songs "Nwa" [ft. Kurupt], "Hollywooddreams", "Coffee". Listen to them here.

Morrissey Rants About Brit Awards: "The Elite Decide What It Is That The People Want"

Morrissey Rants About Brit Awards: "The Elite Decide What It Is That The People Want"

Morrissey has posted a rant about the Brit Awards on true-to-you.net, in which he calls the annual award ceremony "bogus" and suggests that the awards "are unfairly given to singers who, it is hoped, might be encouraged enough by the award to actually write a good song". He also claims that "just as the Mercury Prize lands like a voodoo doll in the hands of the unlucky recipient....a Brit Award generally goes to a lot of shriveled young souls who have not earned it."

He wrote:

The object of the Brit Awards is to create the impression of national consensus as they award pop artists of untested stature or value with bogus awards that, it is slyly implied, have been dictated by you, the objective listener. The Brit Awards do not ask the public who they would like to see receive awards - for that would be to risk too much, yet the fierce insistence is that artists are rewarded for their prominence in the previous twelve months because, after all, "it's what everybody wants." Thus, for 2015, we have MacDonna, who had a quiet 2014 (but who is quite usefully about to release her new album!), yet here she is again promoting her frightening career on the Brit Awards even though her music has not ever said anything at all about British life.

Before adding:

....it really is your own fault if you believe that this Awards show has any connection to anything other than the junk propaganda of the strongest labels gathering to share out awards for their own artists whom they plan to heavily promote in 2015. At its most honest, the Brit Awards are unfairly given to singers who, it is hoped, might be encouraged enough by the award to actually write a good song.

And continuing:

In the guise of serving the public, the Brit Awards have hi-jacked modern music in order to kill off the heritage that produced so many interesting people, to such a degree that we could not imagine anyone who has ever truly affected the course of British music to be on stage at the 02 collecting a deserved award. The maximum trimmings divert your attention from the fact that Taylor Swift has nothing to do with Coventry or Wrexham. To pull off rank fraud in tellyland is not a difficult undertaking, especially if you have the entire population of Peru dancing around you as you mime your song. With solemn cathedral hush, we are asked to watch and to believe, and not to question our empty satisfaction, and certainly, with this year's line-up, the likelihood is that the audience at the London 02 will pay to get OUT. The larger truth may be that any singer or band of any dignity would not join the fantasy pudgery of the Brit Awards.

Drake, Haim, Sia, Ariana Grande, More Read Mean Tweets on "Kimmel"

Drake, Haim, Sia, Ariana Grande, More Read Mean Tweets on "Kimmel"

Fans can be brutal sometimes, so naturally Jimmy Kimmel's show features something called Mean Tweets. It's a chance for musicians to read up on what folks are saying on Twitter - which, as the name implies, are pretty brutal. The latest episode features a host of notables, including Drake, Haim, Sia, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, and more. Most take the criticism in stride – Drake shrugs off a fan's observation that he's "Voldemort with hair", Haim and Grande have a good laugh – and in Sia's case, she's got a jar full of peanut butter to distract from the sting. The special will also feature appearances by several musicians, too. The list of names was revealed in a pair of commercials during last night's Super Bowl.
