Jonathan Athon, the bassist for the Savannah, Georgia trio Black Tusk, has died following a motorcycle accident that occurred on Friday, November 7, Brooklyn Vegan reports. He was 32.

Black Tusk formed in Savannah, Georgia in 2005. The band self-released its first demo, Demos and the Demons, as well as the album When Kingdoms Fall, later that year. 2007's The Fallen Kingdom and 2008's Passage Through Purgatory followed. After touring with Weedeater, Pentagram, and Eyehategod, the band released their last album, Taste the Sin , in 2010.

Fellow Savannah band Baroness posted a tribute to Athon on their Facebook page:

He had an insatiable appetite to fix things, an uncompromising honesty, and an enviable ambition to learn new skills. He was a unique person to say the least, hard working till the end, and with a lust for life that sometimes left us all spinning. I don’t know what will happen next, Athon but I wish you were here to be a part of it. I love you buddy.
