Ariana Grande opened this year's MTV Video Music Awards in Inglewood, California, with a performance of "Break Free", which then segued into Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda". Jessie J then came on stage and the three performed "Bang Bang". Watch video of the performances below.
Shortly after the performances, Common gave a short speech about the protests in Ferguson, Missouri, and asked the audience to have a moment of silence for shooting victim Mike Brown.
