June 10 Named "Drake Day" in the City of Houston


Between songs like "Houstatlantavegas" and his much-hyped "Houston Appreciation Weekend" (which began today), it's no secret that Drake loves H-Town-- but now the city of Houston has returned the love.



The mayor of the Houston, Annise D. Parker, announced today that June 10 will hereafter be known as "Drake Day" in the city of Houston. According to the official statement that Drake posted on Instagram, "Drake Day" is a holiday that “commends and appreciates Drake for dedicating his time to Houston through his passion and enthusiasm for music and our city.”


The honor was bestowed upon Drake at the Astros versus Diamondbacks game where Drake is currently hosting Houston Appreciation Week. Check out the surprisingly austere proclamation below:
