The last couple of years have seen an influx of subscription-based music distribution platforms from labels like Domino and Mad Decent, wherein listeners pay a fee to receive releases on a regular basis. Nicolas Jaar is joining that wave with Other People, a "serial label" that delivers music digitally to subscribers each Sunday.
The first release, which is available now (to both subscribers and non-subscribers alike), includes the first 11 minutes of the new album from Darkside, Jaar's project with Dave Harrington. Next week's issue, which will only be available to subscribers, is a compilation titled Trust featuring new music from Jaar, Harrington, and ten other artists. Find subscription info and more here.
