The War on Drugs Announce New Album A Deeper Understanding, Share New Song: Listen

The War on Drugs have announced their full-length follow-up to 2014’s Lost in the Dream. A Deeper Understanding is out August 25 via Atlantic. The War on Drugs also shared a new song from the project, “Holding On.” Find the new song, tracklist, and album artwork below. The project is mixed by Shawn Everett (a mixing engineer known for his work with Alabama Shakes, Weezer, and Julian Casablancas) and features Hand Habits’ Meg Duffy on guitar. Earlier this year, the band returned with a new 11-minute single called “Thinking of a Place”—a song they released as a 12" single on Record Store Day. That track also appears on the album. They’re embarking on a world tour later this year.
