Mutual Benefit has announced a full-length cover album of Vashti Bunyan’s 1970 debut Just Another Diamond Day. It’s out June 23 via Turntable Kitchen. The album is part of Sounds Delicious—the label's monthly vinyl subscription series in which artists cover their favorite albums in full. Mutual Benefit’s Jordan Lee discussed his decision to cover Bunyan’s debut in a statement. “Since my school days, it’s been one of those pieces of music that has been able to transport me to a calmer, more magical world than the one we currently inhabit,” Lee said in a press release. Lee has shared two tracks off the forthcoming LP—“Jog Along Bess” and “Glow Worms.” Listen below via NPR.
Jordan Lee’s installment of the series follows Jonathan Rado’s rendition of Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run and Yumi Zuma doing Oasis’ (What’s the Story) Morning Glory.
