Liam Gallagher will play his first UK solo show next Tuesday at Manchester Ritz, with profits benefiting victims of the Manchester Arena bombing. The funds will go to Manchester Evening News’ British Red Cross appeal, helping families affected by the attack that left 22 people dead and dozens injured. Gallagher has also announced “Wall of Glass,” the debut single from his new solo LP, As You Were. He’ll embark on a handful of UK dates after the Manchester concert. Check them out below. Peter Hook, Badly Drawn Boy, A Certain Ratio, and more will play a separate benefit concert on June 4. See details below.
Speaking to MEN about the benefit concert, Gallagher said:
It’s outrageous. Just so sad. What can you do? It’s just f***ing out of order. There are kids and people dying all over the world. And for what? ... I just knew I had to [donate the profits]. I’m not in it for the money. The gig was going to happen anyway and we all have to do what we can. I want to try and help pick people up. People like me, doing what we do, it’s our duty to give people a good time.
