Lil Yachty: Teenage Emotions [Quality Control/Motown/Capitol]

After sharing a pair of mixtapes in 2016—Lil Boat and Summer Songs 2—Lil Yachty has released his debut album, Teenage Emotions. The record features Diplo, Migos, YG, Kamaiyah, Stefflon Don, Grace, Sonyae Elise, and Evander Griiim. Danzig: Black Laden Crown [Nuclear Blast]

Danzig are back with their first album in seven years. The follow-up to 2010’s Deth Red Sabaoth is also the band’s first since Glenn Danzig returned to Misfits in 2016.

R&B singer Bryson Tiller surprise-released his new album, True to Self, a month before its scheduled arrival date. The 19-track LP follows 2015’s T R A P S O U L.

Gucci Mane: Drop Top Wop [Atlantic]

The prolific Gucci Mane returns with a new album, Droptopwop. It is produced by Metro Boomin; guests include Rick Ross, Offset (of Migos), 2 Chainz, and Young Dolph. Droptopwop is Gucci’s first full-length of 2017. Last year, after being released from prison in May, he put out six projects: Everybody Looking, the GucTiggy EP (with Zaytoven), Woptober, Free Bricks 2: Zone 6 Edition (with Future), 1017 vs. the World (with Lil Uzi Vert), and The Return of East Atlanta Santa.

Swet Shop Boys: Sufi La EP [Customs] 

Swet Shop Boys—Heems (formerly of Das Racist), Riz MC (Riz Ahmed) and UK producer Redinho—released a physical edition of their new EP, Sufi La, on Record Store Day (April 22). The follow-up to their 2016 debut record Cashmere features six new tracks that “leave the political to focus on the party.” Read Pitchfork’s review of “Thas My Girl.”

Nick CaveWarren Ellis: War Machine OST [Lakeshore/Invada]

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis composed the score for the Netflix original film War Machine, which was directed by David Michôd and stars Brad Pitt, Topher Grace, Tilda Swinton, and others. Last year, Cave and Ellis scored the film Hell or High Water, adding to a catalog that includes scores for Far From Men and 2009’s The Road, which both star Viggo Mortensen.
