Father John Misty has released the video for his Pure Comedy song “Total Entertainment Forever” (you know, the one that starts with “bedding Taylor Swift every night inside the Oculus Rift”) and it is... absolutely bananas. Macaulay Culkin (yes, Macaulay Culkin) plays Kurt Cobain stuck inside a VR game played by George Washington (portrayed by musician / “Spinning on Air” radio host David Garland.) A group of men dressed up as Ronald McDonald, led by Misty (who has two hooks for hands), label Culkin/Cobain “King of the Cucks” and crucify him alongside Jon Arbuckle from “Garfield” and, um, Bill Clinton. At one point, a papier-mâché Ronald McDonald erupts from Misty’s chest à la Alien. Watch it below, if you dare.
The video was directed by a collective called Four Gods and a Baby, which consists of Adam Green (of Moldy Peaches/“Adam Green’s Aladdin” fame), Culkin, Thomas Bayne, and Toby Goodshank, who all appear in the video. Tei Shi also makes a cameo.
Misty recently expanded his world tour.
