Golden Donna Releases New Album Carousel Hold to Benefit Oakland Fire Relief

Producer Golden Donna has released a new album, Carousel Hold, with all proceeds from sales of the record going towards relief initiatives for the Oakland warehouse fire. Golden Donna (real name Joel Shanahan) was scheduled to headline the 100% Silk label showcase at Ghost Ship on the night of the tragedy, which claimed the lives of label mates Nackt and Cherushii. Shanahan told Resident Advisor that he worked on the new album “over the past couple weeks as a means of therapy.” Check it out below—all sales will benefit the Oakland Fire Relief Fund and the Samuel (Peaches) Maxwell Ghost Ship Survivor Fund

In the wake of the Oakland warehouse tragedy, mayor Libby Schaaf issued an executive order protecting DIY spaces. 100% Silk recently issued their 100th release, the compilation Sensate Silk.
