In October, Julien Barbagallo (the French musician who plays drums in Tame Impala) released his album Grand chien. He has now shared the music video for a new remix (by his Tame Impala bandmate Kevin Parker) of the record’s “Longue la nuit.” The Clemens Habicht-directed visual juxtaposes monkeys in the jungle with a man in the city. Watch it below, and scroll down for Barbagallo’s statement on the remix, as well as Habicht’s words on the video.

Julien Barbagallo:
I was stoked when Kevin worked his magic on a remix. I knew he would take the song to a level that gets the body grooving, because I can say one of Kev’s love in life is to make people dance. For a while there as he was working on it, we had some fun with some new lyrics, pure Australian class, however “sexy ladies tonight, Byron Bay to Bondi” didn’t make the final cut. Give it a go though, it does sound good. Our duet dance choreography is to follow.
Clemens Habicht:
The new video “Longue la nuit” exposes the inner animal of a man out on the town. The Barbagallo track is a remix by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, and the video too is the result of two parts coming together—the City, shot in cinematic black and white is collaged together with the wild jungles populated by proboscis monkeys. This guy in the very cradle of civilization is no more or less than a modern animal in his natural habitat.
