With so much good music being released all the time, it can be hard to determine what to listen to first. This week’s batch includes new albums from Kid Cudi, Gucci Mane, Little Simz, the Lox, Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit, and Yung Lean.
Kid Cudi: Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ [Republic/Wicked Awesome]
Originally slated for a September release, Kid Cudi’s Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ has finally arrived after a tumultuous few months. The follow-up to 2015’s Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven features AndrĂ© 3000 (credited as AndrĂ© Benjamin), Travis Scott, Pharrell, and Willow Smith. It includes the Plain Pat and Mike Dean-produced track “The Frequency,” “All In” (produced by Mike-Will-Made-It), “Surfin’,” and “Baptized in Fire.”

Gucci Mane: The Return of East Atlanta Santa [Atlantic]
Since being released from prison, Gucci Mane has returned to his prolific ways, releasing several projects in the span of a few months: Everybody Looking, GucTiggy with Zaytoven, Woptober, Free Bricks 2: Zone 6 Edition with Future, and 1017 vs. the World with Lil Uzi Vert. His new album is the latest installment in a series that includes East Atlanta Santa and East Atlanta Santa 2: The Night Guwop Stole Xmas.

Little Simz: Stillness in Wonderland [Age 101]
After releasing her breakout project A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons last year and AGE 101: DROP X in January, Little Simz has released a new album, Stillness in Wonderland. It includes guest spots from Syd, Chronixx, Bibi Bourelly, and more.

The Lox: Filthy America... It’s Beatiful [Roc Nation]
Filthy America... It’s Beautiful is the first album from the Lox in 16 years. The trio of Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch released the album in partnership with Jay Z’s Roc Nation. Filthy America... It’s Beautiful includes the previously shared songs “Don’t You Cry” and “What Else You Need To Know.” It features Fetty Wap, Mobb Deep, Gucci Mane, and more.

Michael Angelakos: Merry Christmas, Mr. Fields OST [Frenchkiss]
Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos’ new project Merry Christmas, Mr. Fields is a video album and an accompanying soundtrack. It’s a collaboration between Angelakos, Brent Katz (formerly of Harlem Shakes), and director Hana Haley. Proceeds from the album will be donated to charity and the Nichols School Arts Department.

Yung Lean: Frost God [year0001]
Yung Lean is back with a new mixtape called Frost God. The 8-track project follows his 2016 sophomore album, Warlord. It features a guest spot from A$AP Ferg, along with production from Shlohmo.
