Aphex Twin recently collaborated with Japanese musical instrument manufacturer Korg on a new monophonic synthesizer called the Monologue. According to the company, he came “onboard as advisor for the implementation and also to offer scales, sounds and sequences as part of the factory presets.” In particular, he provided custom microtuning settings for the Monologue. Korg has now shared a new series of videos showing some of the synth’s features, including the Aphex Twin presets. Watch the clips below, including a microtuning demo at the 4:34 mark of the fourth video.
Next month, Aphex Twin will play his first U.S. show in over eight years when he takes the stage at Houston’s Day for Night festival. He is already lined up to play London’s Day for Night and Barcelona’s Primavera Sound in 2017.
