The xx Announce First Shows in 3 Years

Today, the lineups for Lollapalooza South America have been announced. The xx will headline the three upcoming festivals in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, alongside Metallica, the Strokes, the Weeknd. Flume, the 1975, Tegan and Sara, Duran Duran, MØ, Tove Lo, and more will also perform. The trio of dates will be the xx’s first shows in three years. They last played a live show at New York’s Guggenheim Museum in 2014.

The group will first play Lollapalooza Brazil, which takes places from March 25-26. Lollapalooza Argentina follows on March 31-April 1, and they conclude their set of dates at Lollapalooza Chile on April 1-2. Below you can find posters detailing the lineups for the three festivals. In the last three years, the group has been working on the follow-up to 2012’s Coexist. In 2015, Jamie xx released a solo album called In Colour that featured his bandmate Romy Madley Croft. Romy talked about the band’s origins during a recent conversation with Savage’s Jehnny Beth.
