The latest installment in the Adult Swim Singles Program is a new track from Flying Lotus’ rapping alter ego Captain Murphy. It’s called “Crowned.” Stream it here, and check out the single artwork below. FlyLo has released one album as Captain Murphy, Duality. “Crowned” is also Captain Murphy’s fourth entry in the Adult Swim Singles Program. In 2012, FlyLo released the first Captain Murphy-featuring song, “Between Friends” (later included on Duality). The next year, Captain got his own track, “Between Villains,” featuring Viktor Vaughn (an alias of MF DOOM), Earl Sweatshirt, and Thundercat. Then in 2014, Captain Murphy put out the solo track “Cosplay.” FlyLo has said that there will be new Captain Murphy music in his upcoming feature film Kuso.
So far, this year’s Singles Program has featured new songs from Earl Sweatshirt and Knxwledge, Vince Staples, DJ Paypal, Sannhet, Ryan Hemsworth (featuring Keaton Henson and Mitski), Jlin, Protomartyr, Against Me!, and more. There are still tracks from Run the Jewels, Rae Sremmurd, and others to come.
