Biosphere (aka Geir Jenssen) has just announced his latest album, Departed Glories, out September 23 via Smalltown Supersound. The album’s 17 tracks were “constructed from hundreds of snippets of Eastern European and Russian folk music recordings,” according to a press release. He was also inspired by the Polish medieval queen Bronislawa, and photographs from Sergei Prokudin-Gorsky (whose work was used for the album’s cover art). Biosphere has also shared the album’s first single “Sweet Dreams Form a Shade.” Below you can find a stream for “Sweet Dreams Form a Shade,” the album’s cover art, and Biosphere’s upcoming tour dates.
