Julian Casablancas’ new monthly radio show, Culture Void, premiered this morning on SiriusXM. As rumored, he brought a surprise with him: new music from The Strokes. The song, “OBLIVIUS,” will feature on the band's upcoming Future Present Past EP, their first new material since 2013's Comedown Machine. Listen to it here on the Cult Records website.
Strokes billboards appeared last night in London and New York. In the videos, a figure runs as the words “Future,” “Present,” and “Past” appear on screen. Casablancas’ label Cult Records, which posted one of the billboard videos, has also updated its site to include the Strokes’ logo and the hashtag #FuturePresentPast.
The Strokes had already teased new music ahead of their upcoming appearance at Governors Ball. "You'll just have to wait and see," Albert Hammond Jr. told a fan on Twitter when asked if the band would play unreleased material. Their headlining set takes place June 3.
