The Strokes have announced a new EP called Future Present Past, their first new material since 2013's Comedown Machine. The record is out June 3, and will be available as a digital download and a 10". Earlier today, Julian Casablancas debuted the album's first single, "OBLIVIUS," on his new Sirius XM show. The EP contains three songs: "Drag Queen," "OBLIVIUS," and "Threat of Joy." It will also come with a remix of OBLIVIUS from the band's Fab Moretti.
Last night, Strokes billboards appeared in London and New York. In the videos, a figure runs as the words “Future,” “Present,” and “Past” appear on screen. Casablancas’ label Cult Records, which posted one of the billboard videos, has also updated its site to include the Strokes’ logo and the hashtag #FuturePresentPast.
The Strokes had already teased new music ahead of their upcoming appearance at Governors Ball. "You'll just have to wait and see," Albert Hammond Jr. told a fan on Twitter when asked if the band would play unreleased material. Their headlining set takes place June 3.
