In her recent cover story for Billboard, Iggy Azalea expressed some strong opinions about Lorde's participation in the all-girl Nirvana tribute held during April's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, MTV reports. Speaking candidly about Lorde standing in for the late Kurt Cobain (singing a stripped-down cover of "All Apologies",) Azalea said:
“Nothing against her, but I think when you’re doing a tribute to someone that’s dead, generally it should be the person’s peer,” she told Billboard. “Lorde is not Kurt Cobain’s peer. No matter if she killed the performance or not, I just don’t think it’s appropriate.”
Lorde has not commented at this time.
