Watch Phoenix Joke Around on Fake Italian Variety Show “Ti Amo Speciale”

The music video Phoenix shared for their track “J-Boy” found the band performing on a fake Italian television show. Now, they have released an extended version of that “program.” It’s called “Ti Amo Speciale.” Directed by Warren Fu, it’s based on Italian variety shows from the ’70s. In the clip, the band perform three tracks off their forthcoming album Ti Amo including the title track, “J-Boy,” and their latest release, “Goodbye Soleil.” Phoenix also join the hosts for an interview conducted over wine. “We spent all of our summers in Italy, and the album is about that,” Christian Mazzalai said. “Memories.” Watch below. The band will also be performing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” this Monday. Ti Amo is out Friday via Glassnote.
