The Game Sues Viacom for $20 Million Over Sexual Assault Case

In 2015, the Game was sued by Priscilla Rainey, who accused the rapper of sexually assaulting her when she was a contestant on his VH1 show, “She’s Got Game.” Last year, he was ordered to pay $7.13 million when the court ruled in Rainey’s favor. Now, the Game has allegedly filed a $20 million negligence lawsuit against VH1’s parent company Viacom, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The complaint claims that the network reportedly “chose ratings over protecting” the Game from Rainey, whom he claims was hired despite her “violent and extensive arrest history.” He claims that the network ignored Rainey’s past arrests during the casting process, which involved a psychological exam. The Game also accuses Viacom of negligent misrepresentation, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and breach of fiduciary duty. Pitchfork has reached out to the Game’s representatives for comment.
