Ariana Grande’s concert at Manchester Arena in England ended in tragedy when an explosion killed 22 people, including children, and wounded 59 others. At a press conference this morning, police said they believe a lone man, who died at the scene, conducted the attack using an improvised explosive device. Police are investigating whether he was part of a wider network. A representative confirmed that Grande herself, who has tweeted a statement, wasn’t hurt. Police said they were treating the attack as “a terrorist incident.” The mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, says the city will hold a vigil for the victims tonight. Police have asked the public to avoid the city center while emergency services continue to work at the scene. Prime minister Theresa May said in a statement that the people of Manchester had fallen victim to a “callous terrorist attack.” She said police believe they know the identity of the attacker but would not yet reveal his name.
