Janet Jackson will resume her postponed Unbreakable tour on September 7, she revealed in a video on her website today. In the clip, Jackson states that she has renamed the tour to “State of the World” tour (named after a song from her seminal album, Rhythm Nation 1814). She explains, “It’s not about politics. It’s about people, the world, relationships, and just love.” The announcement comes after a mysterious countdown launched on her website came to an end. The pop star recently gave birth to her son, Eissa; her pregnancy was what caused her to postpone the world tour dates behind her most recent album. Earlier this month, Jackson was sued in a class action lawsuit brought against her by a fan who claimed the singer was holding back from issuing refunds on the grounds that the tour was “rescheduled” and not “cancelled.”
