The Beatles recently announced the reissue their 1967 classic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Across its various packages are previously unreleased studio takes of each song, one of which, a version of the title track, is streaming now via the Guardian. Check out the recording (complete with studio chatter) below. The super deluxe box set includes another 15 recordings from the Sgt. Pepper sessions—most of them previously unreleased—as well as a 144-page book. Paul McCartney said in a press release, “It’s crazy to think that 50 years later we are looking back on this project with such fondness and a little bit of amazement at how four guys, a great producer and his engineers could make such a lasting piece of art.” The reissue, remastered by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, is out May 26 via Apple Corps Ltd./Capitol/UMe.
