Back in October, John Cale announced a special European show celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Velvet Underground’s classic debut album. The show will take place May 26 at Liverpool Waters, Clarence Dock–an open-air stage in Liverpool, England. For the anniversary show, Cale will be supported by the Kills, Clinic, Wild Beasts, Gruff Rhys, Nadine Shah, and Fat White Family. “It’s such a privilege to have this calibre of artistry about—its not that they fit the legend, rather the legend is part of each of them,” Cale said of the lineup in a press release. Last April, Cale performed the iconic album in Paris alongside Animal Collective and the Libertines, among others.
