Rock Hall 2017: Pharrell to Induct Nile Rodgers, Lenny Kravitz to Play Prince Tribute

The 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony added a handful of guests this morning. Pharrell will induct Nile Rodgers, while new performers include Lenny Kravitz (with a tribute performance to Prince), Alicia Keys, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Indigo Girls. Also announced today: Dhani Harrison and Pat Monahan will induct ELO and Journey respectively. The new announcements join a lineup that includes Snoop Dogg inducting Tupac, Neil Young inducting Pearl Jam, Jackson Browne inducting Joan Baez, and more. 

This year’s list of Rock Hall nominees included Chic, Depeche Mode, Janet Jackson, Bad Brains, Kraftwerk, Jane’s Addiction, MC5, Chaka Khan, the Zombies, and the Cars. While Chic were not inducted this year, Nile Rodgers has been given the Award for Musical Excellence. The ceremony, held at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center, airs April 29 on HBO, at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.
