Kanye West received backlash after scheduling the debut of his Yeezy Season 5 fashion line at the same time as another designer’s showcase at New York Fashion Week. Steven Kolb, the president/CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America—which coordinates the NYFW schedule—called West’s actions “disruptive to the whole week and unfair to designers who have secured spots through the formal procedure.” Now, Hypebeast reports that Kanye has reached out to Kolb personally to resolve the conflict, and agreed to reschedule the Yeezy season 5 show. It will now be at 3 p.m. instead of 5 p.m., at the same venue, Pier 59.
“[Kanye] explained that once he realized Marchesa was in the time slot, he immediately looked at alternative options,” Kolb said in a statement. “The CFDA appreciates Kanye’s outreach and effort, and we look forward to working with him far in advance to integrate Yeezy into the schedule in seasons to come.”
Pitchfork has reached out to West’s representatives for further comment.
