Earlier today, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced the lineup for their 2017 edition; Radiohead, Beyoncé, and Kendrick Lamar were revealed to be the headliners. One band included on the Sunday lineup was New York-based trio Show Me the Body—who apparently should not have been included.
Taking to their Twitter, the band claimed that Coachella (and promoter Goldenvoice) incorrectly listed them on the lineup: “We never agreed to play Coachella. We were offered but we said no. Hopefully Goldenvoice and Coachella will not exploit our name.” A follow-up tweet simply reads, “OR GIVE US ALL THE MONEY.” Find those tweets below. A representative for Show Me the Body offered no comment. Pitchfork has reached out to Goldenvoice representatives for comment.
UPDATE: We never agreed to play Coachella. We were offered but we said no. Hopefully @goldenvoice and @coachella will not exploit our name.
