In 2015, recording artist Devin “the Dude” Copeland elevated his copyright lawsuit against Justin Bieber and Usher to the federal courts, arguing that the artists infringed upon his copyright with their 2010 song “Somebody to Love.” Now, a judge has thrown out Copeland’s case. According to TMZ, the judge described the similarities between Copeland’s original song and Bieber’s “Somebody to Love” as “‘modest’ at best” and did not deem the similiarities enough to pursue a lawsuit.
