Spotify has released their year-end charts, presenting the most streamed artists, songs, albums, and genres throughout 2016. For the second consecutive year, Drake tops the most-streamed artist list, with over 4.7 billion streams (more than doubling his 1.8 million from last year). His album Views is the year’s most streamed album and its single “One Dance” is the year’s top song. Rihanna, Kanye West, Justin Bieber all appear behind Drake on the lists, and Zayn is designated the year’s top “Breakout Artist.” Check out the full “2016 Wrapped” details.
Drake’s dominance on Spotify’s 2016 charts was forecasted earlier this year. In May, Spotify announced that he had topped Bieber as its most played artist, and in October, they announced that “One Dance” was the most streamed song in the history of the platform.
Meanwhile, Drake also charted the most songs on Pandora’s “Top Thumb Hundred 2016” list, with 14 of the most-liked songs of the year.
