Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) was recently a guest on “Ellen.” He talked about being “honored” to play Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo stand-alone Star Wars movie, calling it “a very big deal.” Watch the clip below. He also talked about his new FX show “Atlanta,” explaining the show’s premise to the audience: “I just wanted to make ‘Twin Peaks’ with rappers,” he says.
Glover created “Atlanta,” and he produces, writes, directs, and stars in it. The series follows Glover as Earnest “Earn” Marks, a college dropout who returns home to Atlanta only to discover that his cousin Paper Boi (played by Brian Tyree Henry) is an up-and-coming local rapper. “Atlanta” airs Tuesdays on FX. The series has already been renewed for a 10-episode second season.
