Earlier tonight, SZA tweeted, “I actually quit.” She said that Top Dawg Entertainment president Terrence “Punch” Henderson “can release my album if he ever feels like it.” Henderson subsequently offered what appeared to be a subtweet response: “Lol.” SZA has been teasing her follow-up to 2014’s Z, a record called A, which she said would arrive this year “while everyone is still in a bathing suit.” Pitchfork has reached out to representatives for SZA and TDE for comment.
In an interview, she described A as an album where “all my dirty laundry is on the line.” This year, she shared a new track called “twoAM.” Back in February, TDE boss Anthony Tiffith revealed a prospective TDE release schedule, which noted that SZA’s new project would arrive this year.
I actually quit . @iamstillpunch can release my album if he ever feels like it . Y'all be blessed .
