In July, it was announced that the upcoming second season of Fred Armisen and Bill Hader's parody-documentary TV series “Documentary Now!” would include a parody of Jonathan Demme’s 1984 Talking Heads documentary Stop Making Sense. The upcoming episode, “Test Pattern,” follows a band of the same name during their final concert, and co-stars Maya Rudolph and features songs written by Fred Armisen. The second season of “Documentary Now!” premieres tonight on IFC.
Last night, Armisen and Hader performed as Test Pattern on “Late Night With Seth Meyers.” Below you can watch the band play “Art + Student = Poor.” Armisen is also the bandleader for the show’s house band, the 8G Band.
Last year, the duo released Catalina Breeze, an album from their fake soft rock band Blue Jean Committee.
