In May, it was announced that Glenn Danzig would join Jerry Only for a reunion of the original Misfits at this year’s Riot Fests in Denver (September 4) and Chicago (September 18), their first shows together since 1983. Now, it’s been announced that former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo will join Danzig, Only, and long-time Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein for the reunion gigs. In a quote to Rolling Stone, Only calls Lombardo “a master at what he does,” and says that he and Danzig agreed on Lombardo from the moment his name was brought up. “Dave is one of the best drummers around, and I can't wait for everyone to see him pounding Misfits songs live for these special shows,” Danzig added.
