In the early hours this morning, Bon Iver shared a new track from their forthcoming LP, 22, A Million. Now, Justin Vernon has confirmed on Twitter that, as several fans speculated, the song samples Paolo Nutini. The track in question is “Iron Sky,” from Nutini’s 2014 album Caustic Love; the line “We find God and religions” has been lifted for the bridge. Listen to the original below (the lyric comes 56 seconds in), as well as “33 ‘God’,” where the sample appears at 1:12.
But for real though, I'm dying over here, DID JUSTIN VERNON SAMPLE PAOLO NUTINI ON 33 "GOD"?!?!
