Troy Ave Arrested After T.I. Concert Shooting

Last night, four people were injured in a deadly shooting at T.I.’s Irving Plaza concert in New York. One was the rapper Troy Ave, whose real name is Roland Collins. The person killed in the shooting was Ronald McPhatter, 33, who was Troy Ave's bodyguard. Now, the New York Daily News reports that NYPD sources say that the shooter was Troy Ave himself.

Police have reportedly arrested Troy Ave, charging him with reckless endangerment, illegal weapons possession, and criminal use of a firearm. Sources told the Daily News a murder charge was still possible, depending on the outcome of ballistics tests. The sources said Troy Ave had a dispute with Maino, who had just left the stage prior to the shooting, though a motive for allegedly shooting McPhatter wasn’t clear. Maino, in an Instagram post, expressed condolences for McPhatter's death and denied “ongoing beefs” between the two camps.
