Coldplay's Chris Martin Covers Prince's "Raspberry Beret" With Eighth Graders

Coldplay's Chris Martin played the Chords 2 Cure benefit concert in Santa Monica on Sunday—an effort to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Martin joined a band of eighth graders called A-Side. They performed two songs: Coldplay's "Twisted Logic" and Prince's "Raspberry Beret." In a speech before the performance, he talked about how he suggested to the band that they do the song. Apparently, they replied, "We don't know it. We've never heard of it. We're, like, 14." Watch it happen below via Stereogum.

Support has poured out from across the musical community in the wake of Prince's death.
