A Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg's "Nutshell" Single Coming Tomorrow

A Tribe Called Quest's Phife Dawg passed away last month, due to complications from diabetes. At the time of his death, he was working on a solo album called Give Thanks. Tomorrow, a song from that album will premiere on Apple's Beats 1. The song is called "Nutshell," and features a beat from the late J Dilla. Below, you can listen to a teaser. "Phife loved his fans, and was so excited for them to hear his new music," his widow said in a statement. "I feel like he would have wanted it this way." 50% of the proceeds from the song's sale will be donated to the American Diabetes Association and the National Kidney Foundation.

A video for the song will also debut at "The Celebration of Phife," an event taking place tomorrow at Harlem's Apollo Theater. The event will be streamed on Revolt. (It shares a name with a similar celebration that took place this morning at NYC's St. Albans Park.)
