Third Man have announced the first-ever official release of the White Stripes' 2001 Peel Sessions as a double LP for Record Store Day (April 16). The two live sessions they recorded with BBC DJ John Peel have been bootlegged in the past, but this is the first authorized release. The Record Store Day pressing is coming on red and white vinyl; a standard black vinyl pressing will be out later this year.
Third Man are also releasing White's Muppets-assisted cover of Stevie Wonder's "You Are the Sunshine of My Life." The green vinyl 7" will only be available at Third Man's stores in Nashville and Detroit. They're also putting out a new White-produced single from Kate Pierson (of the B-52's) featuring "Venus" and "Radio in Bed." Watch the video for "Venus" by Brad Holland (of Whirlwind Heat) below.
