AraabMuzik sustained gunshot wounds on Thursday night in a New York City parking garage, the New York Daily News reports. The 26-year-old producer, born Abraham Orellana, reportedly underwent surgery and is recovering in the hospital. AraabMuzik's friend James Malloy was also shot and is in stable condition, according to the Daily News.

AraabMuzik's publicists told Pitchfork in a statement: "Last night, AraabMuzik was shot in Harlem and the incident is currently under investigation by the NYPD.  He is out of surgery and expected to make a full recovery. Out of respect for his privacy and legal issues around this matter, no further comments will be made at this time."

An NYPD spokesperson confirmed to Pitchfork that a shooting took place around 7 p.m. at the address of the ProPark America parking garage in Harlem. A 26-year-old male was struck in the leg and grazed in the head, while a 32-year-old male was struck in the leg during a "dispute between several men" inside the garage, the NYPD spokesperson said, declining to provide further details due to official policy.

AraabMuzik was driving Malloy's BMW with his friend and nearing the garage exit when two men came up near the producer's side of the car, the Daily News reports, citing sources. One, acting as if something had fallen, convinced AraabMuzik to roll the window down. The gunshots shortly followed, according to the report.

AraabMuzik also sustained gunshot wounds when he was the victim of an attempted robbery in 2013.

AraabMuzik recently released two new EPs, the EDM-oriented King and beats-oriented Goon Loops. According to a January press release, his next album will be titled Dreamworld.

The next scheduled live performance for AraabMuzik is March 10 in New Orleans, according to his Facebook page.
