Tim Hecker's last album was 2013's Virgins. Today, he's announced the follow-up, Love Streams. It's out April 8 via 4AD. The new album is Hecker's first release for the label. Find the full tracklisting and artwork below.
The album features Kara-Lis Coverdale and Grímur Helgason, the same collaborators who worked on Virgins, plus the Icelandic Choir Ensemble. The vocal arrangements were scored by Oscar-nominated composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. The album's sessions took place throughout the past two years at Greenhouse Studios in Reykjavik, Iceland.
In a statement, Hecker said the album was created while he mulled over ideas like “liturgical aesthetics after Yeezus” and the “transcendental voice in the age of auto-tune."
In addition to the album, Hecker has announced a string of spring shows. Find the tour dates below, as well.
