Tonight, Ricky Gervais hosted the 73rd Golden Globes. Ennio Morricone, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Brian Wilson, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, and Wiz Khalifa were all up for awards.
Morricone won the Best Original Score Golden Globe for his work on Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight. The award was accepted by Tarantino, as Morricone was not in attendance.
The award was presented by Jamie Foxx and Lily James. Before announcing Morricone as the winner, Foxx joked that Straight Outta Compton won.
Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto's score for The Revenant was also nominated, as was Carter Burwell's score for Carol, Alexandre Desplat's score for The Danish Girl, and Daniel Pemberton's score for Steve Jobs.
