Moogfest takes place in Durham, North Carolina from May 19-22. The festival is part music festival, part technology conference, and it features performances, conversations, workshops, installations, a film festival, and a marketplace for instrument manufacturers. Today, the lineup of over 100 acts has been announced.
The lineup features Gary Numan (playing Replicas, The Pleasure Principle, and Telekon during a three-night stand), Laurie Anderson (doing her performance piece "The Language of the Future" and doing a talk), GZA, Blood Orange, Explosions in the Sky, Oneohtrix Point Never, Julia Holter, Grouper, Julianna Barwick, the Orb, the Haxan Cloak, Floating Points, Empress Of, Sunn O))), Hundred Waters, Ben Frost, Tim Hecker, Dawn Richard, Jlin, Actress, Son Lux, Laurel Halo, Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh, Arthur Russell’s Instrumentals, YACHT, Moses Sumney, Tyondai Braxton, Dawn of Midi, Kode9, Lotic, Lunice, Mac McCaughan, Mykki Blanco, Quintron and Miss Pussycat, Reggie Watts, Ryan Hemsworth, Simian Mobile Disco, Sun Ra Arkestra, M. Geddes Gengras, ADULT., Bootsy Collins, Daniel Lanois, Mike Dean, and many more.
Non-musical talks will be presented by Dr. Martine Rothblatt, Jaron Lanier, and more.
