Serengeti's 2014 album Kenny Dennis III featured a suite of skits with Anders Holm, aka Ders, star of Comedy Central show "Workaholics". Now, the pair have teamed with DJ Rafall as Perfecto. They just surprise-released their debut LP, You Can't Run from the Rhythm, via Joyful Noise. Find the tracklist and album cover below. It concludes with a 17-minute-long track called "The Labrador" that's referred to as Perfecto's "origin story."
Below, watch the retro video for first track "Giorgio", and scroll down for Serengeti's tour dates.
A press release describes the project:
Don’t be afraid of the rhythm. Lose yourself to the power of Perfecto. Just feel the groove, close your eyes, and shake your hips. It’s a dance revolution. Perfecto: attacking the mic like the funky spawn of Snap, C&C Music Factory, and Technotronic. Not even Ya Kid K could ever get this low.
Perfecto:
01 Giorgio
02 Close Your Eyes
03 Side x Side
04 DJCU
05 The Labrador
Serengeti is also a member of Sisyphus with Sufjan Stevens and Son Lux.
