The cassette revival isn't just for internet think pieces: It was the subject of an "NBC Nighty News" segment that aired on Sunday night, as Stereogum points out. As NBC's Kate Snow puts it: "When the CD came along we chucked all those old cassettes, but guess what? They're back!" Watch it below.
The segment focused on the National Audio Company, a tape manufacturing plant in Missouri. There are interviews with the plant's employees, close-up action footage of the tapes being produced, shots of tapes by Diet Cig, and a brief interview with Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin's Philip Dickey.
