Two years ago, M.E.D., Blu, and Madlib teamed up for a collaborative project, The Burgundy EP. Now, the artists are back with a full-length LP, Bad Neighbor (that's the album art above). Arriving October 30 via BangYaHead!, the fifteen-track effort features collaborations with Hodgy Beats, DâM-FunK, Oh No, Aloe Blacc, Mayer Hawthorne, Phonte, and more. Hip-hop supervillian MF DOOM appears as well, on the track "Knock Knock", which you can stream above; he's also in a goofy, animated album commercial (find that below, underneath the tracklisting).
Here’s what M.E.D. had to say to Rolling Stone about MF Doom’s verse:
Doom's concept was that it's a text message. He text messages me while I'm not home, so he comes to my house anyway and starts borrowing all kinds of shit, you know, villain-style. I was, like, ‘what the fuck is that?’ So there's this whole verse about him going to my house, drinking my beers, going through my DVDs. It's so hilarious and genius.
