Spoon Get Their Own Playing Cards

Spoon Get Their Own Playing Cards

Nick Cave might have his very own toy, but Spoon have also made an addition to the offbeat merch game today. They're selling a "casino-quality" deck of 56 playing cards inspired by their latest album They Want My Soul. Created in collaboration with artists Matthew Jacobson and Camilo Medina and manufactured by the U.S. Playing Card Company, the cards are now available on the band's site.

The deck contains 56 cards because, in addition to the standard 52 cards, it also contains "two 'R.I.P.' cards (instead of Jokers), one two-tone double-backed card, and one crazy 4 that includes all four suits (for use by magicians and hustlers)," according to Jacobson.

Today on Facebook, Spoon shared the above photo featuring the cards. According to Jacobson, the spooky image was originally intended as part of They Want My Soul's packaging, but ended up getting cut from the final version.
